The UNESCO AGH Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering Education, Krakow, Poland, in short UNESCO AGH Chair, was established as a result of the Agreement signed by the Director-General of UNESCO, Ms. I. Bokova, and His Magnificence the Rector of AGH University, Prof. Dr. hab. Eng. A. Tajduś (July 2010), and then a positive opinion of the AGH University Senate at the request of the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development, Prof. Dr. hab. Eng. Jerzy Lis (23 October 2010) on the establishment of an extra-faculty unit called the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering Education – resolution No. 123/2010. At its meeting, the Senate also gave a positive opinion on the candidacy of Prof. Dr. hab. Eng. Janusz Szpytko as Head of the extra-faculty unit called the UNESCO AGH Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering Education, Krakow, Poland - resolution no. 124/2010.
